Not a great report, but it’s better than many we’ve had this past summer. On the lake at 0630 with a nice full moon which I know is not good, 79.2 water temp and virtually no wind. Didn’t see anything at our favorite 65 foot cut off a point, so headed out to check the deep (75+) water east of Frey Key to Hollywood Point. Didn’t hardly see a thing. Worked back to Goat and Billie Bay, checking humps and holes. For the most part nothing. Finally decided to drift (with downrods) in the deep water headed to the water treatment plant. Finally at 1100 (our predecided quitting time) we found some. They were even schooling in 55 feet for a short time. Got a 21 and 23 inch and called it quits rather than pursue them. Maybe next time.
Our bait transportation problem seems to be solved utilizing two 5 gallon buckets. Didn’t lose a one between Lake World and the boat. And baits seem to be holding up much better on downrods than what they have in the past.
