Thursday Report

It was great to get back out in my own boat this morning! Rick and I had nice short trip, getting our limit in an hour and a half. It was pretty much the same deal as Sunday but a lot more efficient-- 60 foot dowrods in 80-100 feet of water on the south side of the big pool. We had a couple fish pushing 6 pounds… Off to the Hill Saturday!

I’m glad you got your boat back James.

Nice way to start back up James…How’s live bait holding up these days at that depth?

I’d check it every 5 minutes, but it seems to be holding up well. We had a couple baits last more than 10 before tapping out. That’s plenty of time if you’re marking. If you suspect your bait is on it’s last breath, power reel. You know it works!

Thanks for the report. Been fairly quiet lately.

I am taking the family out tonight for some more evening fishing. Usually I just set up on a 60-80 hump. But thinking they may be deeper. Any suggestions? Don’t really want to take the family to the towers. Prefer the quiet of the night. Should we just try drifting across the channel, or find some deeper structure or river bends to look for marked fish and setup shop?

Thanks,

You may not need to go so deep. I got them Wed night trolling in the river channel. Picked up 3 between 8:30 and 9 in the low 60’s, but then didn’t get #5 till about 10:30. Last 2 were in the low 50’s. All were legit keepers.

Trying to finish up at work now, then hoping to out there as well.
