Thursday.......Slow but heavy...

Fished straight out thursday.(150’-230’) Ended up with 5 nice dolphin and a daymaker hoo.I’m glad I was on the Sea Snake and not my little pro line…
I had the honor of gaffing the hoo and I thought I was goin to shat
in my me britches when he came close enough to see him.It was then that I realized he hit the blue and white Islander rigged with 80lb floro.

Guess I’m getting old, because all I could do was hold on and wait for someone to help get him over the side…
We thought for sure he would go 70 plus, but he topped out at 65.

Back at the cleaning table we found a three inch piece of wire with the hook still attatched. Will post some pics tomorrow.

Very nice hoo, Capehorn. Be thankful. We had a big one bite off one of my favorite baits on 130 floro yesterday, and four or more of the same on the last trip. It tempts me to go back to wire every time. A 65-pound wahoo more than a day maker. Congratz.
