Tide Down - 7-31-11 - Quality fish but Slow

Fished Straight out with a group of fellow Clemson Alumni. Started just inshore of the ledge and worked down the ledge looking for Wahoo. Finally found them in about 200’ and picked up 3 hoos over the next couple of hours. Also cut off another. Decided to push out farther and look for bill fish. Had a triple header of barracuda and they were released unharmed. Found some great looking water in about 300’ with lots of bait. Saw a Sailfish greyhounding but were unable to get him to bite. Finally got a sailfish in the baits and he piled on the short rigger but disappeared as quickly. Picked up another Wahoo and started back to the ledge. We were marking bait but could not buy a bite. Even had a few guys trying to chum them up but they were pretty good sports about it. Ended the day with 4 Wahoo in the 20-35 lb range and a hand full of cudas. All in all a great day for late July.

We still have some weekends available. Check us out at: www.tidedownsportfishing.com

Good stuff Chuck !! Pulling any dredges at all for the bills??

We had one dredge out bit didn’t put out the other. We caught 2 sails last week as soon as we put the dredge out but missed the only chance we had this week. That is the way it goes sometimes.

Great late summer fishing, looks like a washout for this weekend

Good deal chuck. I had a good time with yall last trip thanks for the pics I am ready to do it again before deer season if yall got room. Thanks Man!
