Went out at 2 yesterday putting in at copahee sound landing. Thats right, 2 at copahee. There was hardly any water to launch but we got it done. I just picked up an East Cape Gladesmen on Saturday and I can promise no one in Charleston could put in like I did yesterday. Maybe a Kayak but thats it.
Anyways, fished some flats off the ICW and saw alot of tails right as the water moved in the grass. For about 30 min everything was going good until the water flooded everything… real fast. So first trip no fish in the boat. It was alot of fun thought.

It was a lot of water. To be honest Jerms when I first saw the thing I was in love. Once I jumped on it in the water I had to hold on. Its a little tipsy. Once under power its crazy stable. It is easy to do anything on this boat with just yourself on it. Two guys require coordination. I would say this might be my most favorite boat! Hands down the coolest boat I’ve ever been on. To put this thing in the water like we did was amazing. I would read about how people say, it will float in a mud puddle. They werent kidding. I felt like I was pushing a float over sand. We had some chop in the ICW when heading to Morgan Creek and this thing took it better than my 176 Ranger Caymen did and I was way drier in the Gladesmen.

Sent you a PM.
A long long slow walk in the spartina gives you time to think big thoughts and put your mind back into order.
i run a Lostmen but still want a G’man. the lostman can launch similar (without a ramp…get the tires barely in the water and she’ll slide off) thanks to the low rida trailer…but not as easy…one handed-not 2 fingered!
did you get the boat local? Bubba’s boat? those little skiffs will tattoo a permanent grin on your face
It must have been you that I saw Friday evening taking your boat out off the water on the upper wando. Thats a nice little skiff you got there. I was surprised when you rolled into the landing at low tide like you did…then again I’m not considering you were in such a slick little boat. I also noticed your GoPro on the casting platform. How did you have it mounted so flush with the platform? It looked like it would decrease hangups.
That was me Pez. I used the flush mount that came in the kit. It is actually pretty good. I strip line to the left so I placed it on the right. I have mostly used it for run shots. there is also one on the poling platform and on the grab bar in the middle of the boat.
Next time give me a shout.

Ill have to share that with my friend about the mount. We’ve been trying to figure out how to decrease hangups from the line wrapping around the camera. I dont know if he’s aware that you can do that with the mount. Thanks. And I’ll speak up if I see you around sometime. I fish that water a lot so theres a good chance ill run into you again eventually.

Stripstrike, the only boat I have ever seen at Coopahee was a 12 ft carolina skiff with a 100 lb fella in it. There was alot of water and he was still fighting to get in. Id like to see what kind of other boats would do what I did. Paddle boards dont count. Thanks for the comment though.

Just a joke amigo… By the way I have a Gladesmen. So Chs is lucky enough to have 3 of these rides floating around the back bays. Again sweet ride you got
No doubt. Would love to have the boats together. There isn’t a better boat for chasing tailers. It is the perfect 2 man fly fishing boat for charleston as long as you know what you’re getting. Our bow casting platform is very high and someone will go out of the boat if you’re not communicating. The boat will float in 2" with me and my brother.
The boat will be around IOP after the middle of July until then she stays south. I’ll shoot you a PM soon.

Unless someone has neglected to grease the skids! The injury sustained my back that day has developed into a chronic pain which at times renders me incapable of performing some of my most aggressive wading maneuvers. The druken heron may have to be retired but for that fish you caught, it’s worth it.
