Tides this weekend.

Are the tides going to be really screwed up Thursday & Friday? I talked to a friend today who said something about 8’ tonight while the forecast is for 6’

They have been screwed up all year I think. Some way short and some way to big.
Saturday morning is looking good on the charts. I am not sure they will be eating or not.

I just got off the water and it was suppose to be about 6.6 and that’s what it seemed like it was. No where near a 7.0 tide. I don’t see any big difference in what is predicted and what we are having.

Our tide in Hilton Head was very large tonight. I would say close to 9’.
Chris.

They’ve been holding solidly at about a foot over the predicted, this morning was reported at about 7 feet, if the pattern holds tomorrow AM we’ll have a 7.5 ish and Saturday morning we’ll have a 7.7ish. That’s a lot of water!

It’s been about a foot over predicted for at least the last two weeks now. Hard for me to find fish on a 7’+

Good luck if you go though.

Just get to the flat an hour earlier then normal, and leave an hour earlier too.

What he said! According to NOAA due to some sort of celestial alignment the tides this year are higher than any since records have been kept. Forget two hours ahead, try three.

I got out there 2.5 hours before the high and it was perfect, tide wise. But, the wind was blowing to 15mph and only saw 6 fish. Out of those six got a decent shot at 2 of them, but missed them both.

One of those days were it just did not work out. They were not tailing hard. I’d see a tail for a second then the fish would dissappear. The two shots I got, one just swam over the fly and the other spooked when slowly stripping it to him.

Was pissed as it broke my skunkless streak of 5 flat walks!

Had to leave the flat an hour before high tide.

An hour before high is high these days. Well played on five straight!
