Tidwater vs Sportsman Boats

Any opinions of quality of one manufacturer over the other?

I looked for several months prior to purchasing my Tidewater bay max. I never tested the Sportsman on the water as I liked the layout of the Tidewater just a bit better. My investigation (consulting non-biased boat people) proved that both are high quality boats. Price was not much different between the two.

Since my Tidewater purchase I have never looked back. I would recommend Tidewater. Speaking for the Bay boat: Ride in rough water is great. Will run in shallow water. Width is perfect as you can get around the console easily. Great general storage and rod storage. Plenty of room for passengers.

Sorry. This may not help answer your question directly, but at least you have some input to work with.

Good luck with your decision

Thanks for your reply. I am looking at the Tidewater Carolina Bay 2200 vs the Sportsman Tournament 214. Which Baymax do you have? I definitly want to know if you everyone is happy with the quality of the boat brands.

I have the 1900 Bay Max. The 2200 is a beautiful rig. My budget and needs would not allow me to go that large.

I feel you will be happy with your selection. Again I have been in rough and smooth water with comfort.

Bulls bay is as close to off shore that it has seen to this point, but I have only had mine since September. It cuts the water very well and only drafts a foot or so.
