Tigress 12/15/10 - Grouper, Snapper and C bass

Got to the ramp about 8:15. Got2Go had already gotten there and had his motor warming up. I was waiting on my crew, and then we would head out with both boats.

Finally, Florida Boy comes poking into the parking lot. He asks if we have changed plans and will trying to go get some weakfish or some sheeps or what. “No. We are going to get your C bass,” I said.

So we get into the ocean, and Florida Boy has been bragging about this c bass spot he’s got. He tells me this is where he has been fishing lately, and that it’s too good to post about on the internet. Since I was taking him fishing though, he said I could blab about it on here all I wanted.

He was hesitant to put the numbers into my GPS, so I let him cut it off. Got2Go on the other hand, was in his boat following us the whole time, so I am sure I can get the numbers from him if anyone wants them. FB explained to me that the bearing from the jetties to his spot was a 400. I told him my compass did not have 400 on it, so he told me to step aside.

So I went to sleep for about 2 hours, and I woke up hearing the clanging of the anchor in the front of the boat. I looked at the sonar and we were in 45ft of water. Dude… where have you taken us?

This is why he said it was okay to talk about this spot on here. I don’t have any idea where it was…

Anyway, here is the haul.

Okay, I am kidding. I have never met Florida Boy…

Here is the reel report. I will apologize for lack of pictures up front. It was not worth taking the gloves off all day…

I did get this pic for 23sailfish on the way to the ramp.

So Got2Go and I did buddy boat for safety. While we were warming the motors up at the ramp, G2G mentioned there was a huge wad of mullet right off the ramp. I dug out the cast net and handed it to him. Next thing I know I look over at the ramp n

Nice job Wes. Glad you made it out. WAY TOO COLD though. How was the ride out?

Glad you ended up finding them and appreciate you buddying up with me. Luckily, found the big cbass on my way in to save my day and prove to my wife, that yes, I actually was fishing. And, I know that was the most mullet I’ve ever caught in one throw, ever!

They yellowfin hull is nice but the cabin on the All Rise is heated.

We need to go during the holidays! You think the our boat is big enough for you and Phin? It could be an epic fish kill.

We cannot catch any bottom fish on such fine and magnificent yachts.
That’d be like me throwing a deer into the back of a maybach car to go to the skinning shed.

This is why I fish on my 21ft all the time.

:face_with_head_bandage:

So we’ll have to go on my bote.

It was well below freezing and according to the Edisito buoy 4 foot at 4 seconds then dying to 4 foot at 5 seconds yesterday. Nothing against your boat but if you had alittle more room and creature comforts I think you may enjoy yourself a bit more. Then again I don’t know if I can find a crew that is tough enough to run with you.

You might be surprised what an old Mako can do if you’d give it a chance some day. I know it isn’t 30 feet long with twin engines that can go 50mph, but I think you might be surprised at the comfort.

Where and when you run makes all the difference.

I made a phone booth enclosure out of a $10 clear shower curtain, some rope and duck tape. Best 10 dollars ever spent. It was colder when we’d stop than when we were running. That wind was the chiller. Once it stopped blowing it was quite nice.

One of you Contender guys who refuse to go fishing when the wind’s blowing should give me a gift certificate to one of the local canvas guys so I can get something that will last longer than a shower curtain. It’s the least you can do if you feel sorry for me being so uncomfortable.

Phin, your wishes will come true one day, except I have no spots in 45’ and I wouldn’t dare putting you on my spts for fears of pure embarrassment on my part.
