Met up with hydrotherapy yesterday, and we headed out just before the morning traffic heading to the cut.
Got the shower curtain tied up and eased out the harbor to see what the ocean was doing.
Had to figure out which was was in the trough so we would not have to take a beating. Went on out and set up on the first spot, but saw quickly that the hook was dragging through the fish. Floated it up, and got the chain untangled from around the anchor and did it again.
Hydrotherapy marked a 14" line on his side of the bote, and threw back all the c bass that were not well over that mark. Almost all were 12", but maybe half were over 14 like we wanted.
I brought up a gag, and soon we were done with our c bass limit. Called sellsfish on the radio to see what was up where he was. Ocean was about the same up there it sounded like, so we had to think for a while to decide whether to go to a different depth to go after some scamps or what.
We decided to give it a shot, but quickly gave it up. Would have taken a big beating coming in from further out. So we went and tried for another gag closer in for a few minutes and then just came on in. Wasn’t too bad. Was able to make 26kts and then 30kts once we got close enough to see the bridge.
61 degrees in 85ft. 58 degrees in 70ft.
Went again today with scootin4goodies and his crowd, and had a big time with many good fish. Will let him post the report.
Here are some pics from yesterday.
