Here is a reason to fish on a bigger boat… COMFORT!!!

So why don’t you fish on a headboat?

For further illustration of my point, I have one question.
It was said that you made a comment about feeling like you had been in a cage match and had been pile driven into a 6" deep puddle of water surrounded by foam beads after a certain trip with Scootin. Were you aware of the fact that I was on a smaller boat with half the horsepower on the same day and that my wife SLEPT (DRY) in the bean bag on the way in? This was 10-15 miles from where you all were in the salty showered cage match…

I’m just asking!

Because Scootin likes to drive 98mph...

But, to further illustrate my point… If you were Bill Gates rich, would you still be fishing a 21’ boat???

I’m just asking!

A 21 would not be anywhere in my fleet.
I would actually be swinging a 65’ Viking off the deck of my 300ft yacht via the remote control crane (not operated by an iphone, but a windowsphone) after the 31 footer reported back to the mother ship with 200 goggle eyes transfered to the 65 Viking for me to use as bait. I would have my helicopter come pick me up when the bait ran out if was bored. If not bored, I’d have the helicopter go get the bait from the 31 foot bait catcher.
And I’d be fishing somewhere that ext

I would probably go with you if you had something like that. Would you send the chopper to pick me up from the upstate?

Set the trap boys, we going to pass through them again!!

Also says if I had a 34 yellowfin or something that he’d fish offshore with me then… The boy acts like he is not from Clarendon County or something… I’m just sayin. Circle Hook and me are from Orangeburg and Berkeley Counties. A boat too big to fit under the cooper river railroad trestle is undesirable to us!

My boat is an older 21 Mako.

shrimpkilla, y’all must have turned after the 3rd set of buoys. Saw y’all running for a little while and figured y’all were headed the same place as us.

21 Mako - that’s a nice boat, and plenty big to be out at the GTH on such a beautiful day! Makes it easier flinging all of the big fish in the boat when you are closer to the water

And I do feel, my friend, that your boat is too big for shrimping  My boat is on the big side of perfect (and it is 17). My boat probably shouldn’t be at the GTH… but it’ll be there with the Jerry Jugs if I don’t have an invitation on a beautiful day. Not that I’m planing on doing so - but I am ready … I’ll be the 'lil blue boat, with the 92lb wahoo

Please explain to the nice people at Charlestonfishing why you would rather fish your 20 foot boat instead of my 31 to the ledge? 90% of the trips I have taken in the past 3 years you were more than welcome to come with us. So why would we leave my horse in the stable and take your pony to the ledge of all places? The ONLY card you have is fuel prices. And I can argue very easily the room I have lets 6 fish comfortably vs 3 on your boat. Doing the simple math of splitting costs how much do we save?? $10? I have to drive from the upstate, take a kitchen pass, and a many times a day off work. $10 is not to large of a price for me to have a little more boat under my feet.

Nothing against the smaller boat. We use to fish a 24 at the ledge. MANY people still do. But once you see what a bigger boat will do it is hard to go back to a smaller one. I think most will
