2003 Yamaha 70 TLRB w/704 controls. I have tried the tilt/trim button on the controls as well as the one on the side of the engine. It will tilt the motor up, but will not tilt it back down.
Trying to get the boat/trailer ready for a trip to Florida in a little over a week and keep finding crap. Any ideas?

swap green and blue wire and see if it will go down!

Had about the same problem Saturday turned out most my fluid was gone Ran by the local shop and you could here the motor and no visible leak. Added fluid for a band aid let it sit for 2 hours purged last of the air bubbles topped it off got to boat all weekend.
Can’t wait for the repair bill when I fix it for good.
Swapped out the blue and green wires. Now it goes down but not up. Ordered a new relay today. Should get here in time to get it in before my trip. Thanks for the input.

Man, glad you got it fixed before your trip. My luck is it always will not work when I get there!
Yep, just put the new relay in. Working like a charm. What a relief. The boat and motor are 14 years old. They have more age than time on them. The motor probably doesn’t have but 300-400 hours. It looks new. Hoping to squeeze a few more years out of the whole rig.
