tilt/trim

Last couple times I went out, I noticed my tilt trim reacts slower than usual. It acts as though it is low on fluid…how do you check the fluid level and add more? I know you have to have to motor all the way up or down…can’t remember but I assume all the way up. Thanks for any help

When you activate it, the motor shuold be smooth sounding, if it ‘gurgles’ some, the fluid is probably low. Should be a cap or large screw somewhere opposite of the tilt-motor on the fluid resevior.
But, if it is smooth soudnig, but slow, you either have a worn motor or weak elec connection to correct.

Alright, roger that thank you. That is exactly what happens…I hear a gurgling noise and then it starts moving. It has been slow for about a year and a half which is how longed I have owned it. So tilt the motor all the way up, remove the cap, fill resevoir and replace cap, check electrical connection…check. Thanks

Ok so can I use regular hydraulic fluid or is there a specific kind of tilt/trim fluid that should be used?
