Yamaha?
In my experience, most of the tools are less than ideal, and don’t last. Last time I had to do this I bought new caps and knocked them out with a punch and hammer.

Call the guy at Marine tech tools. He is in North Charleston off Dorchester. He sells a high quality tool around 70$. I went and picked mine up locally. I let someone borrow mine and haven’t seen it since… make sure you use the 3 pins not just two or you will snap the pins. once I realized that, it took them right off. I tried the harbor freight adjustable spanner wrench but it was trash.

It is the best thing we have ever used.
it has different parts that fit all the different caps.
its EXPENSIVE $650, but as a dealer, its the best tilt trim tool we have ever used.

IF I RESPOND IN ALL CAPS, ITS NOT ON PURPOSE, AND I AM NOT YELLING
Had an old lawn mower blade. Cut just past the hole. Drill two holes that are the same distance as the pin holes in the T/T cap. Thread and insert to bolts the same diameter as the cap pin holes and cut to leave about 1/4" protruding. Remove caps.
As it turns out, the center area of a lawn mower blade is pretty hard, so cutting and drilling was slow. But, built the tool quicker than it would have taken to drive to the store for one.

I did the same with a piece of 1/2"X1" bar stock. Just make sure you use the expensive bolts that are very hard/strong.
