time of night for gigging matter?

I usually go right when it gets dark and the tide is low, but have had no luck. other people on here seem to be going at midnight and later. is that when the flounder actually lay on the bottom or can i not just find them.

it’s tough being a gamecock fan!

2hr. before and after low tide. Water needs to be clear. Shelly/sandy bank. If tide is dead low, look near the very top of the bank:wink:

Lets start here.Go on new moon or full moon nights couple days either side.I like a low tide late in the morning 2 or 3 oclock.True sand, shells, live oysters, and mudflats. If you can see the bottom 1ft to 18 in deep and you are seeing some bait then you should be seeing flounder.True, start 1hr or so before low tide gig until back in the grass. Some people say you can see their eyes glow you might wont to look for that. Not certain thats true never seen them glow myself,im fishing for anyone to convince me its true.
