One of my TM batteries died this morning so I am in the market for new batteries. Figured I might as well replace both. Trying to figure out the most the bang for my buck on batteries. Anyone using the Duracell deep cycle batteries? Any good? Batteries plus has the 31 group Duracell Ultra batteries for $104 each with 10% off for buying online and picking up in the store.
I went through the same thing a few weeks ago. Chris V recommended the Deka battery. I tried to find a local distributor but couldn’t. Went to Sam’s club
Found that the Duracells were made at the same plant as the Deka so I bought the size 27 for about $88. I assume they’re made by the same company and sold as Duracell.
I’ve had it out for a three day trip in Florida and was very pleased. I charged it each night and it held up really well everyday. At the end of the last day my starting battery died. I used the trolling motor on full speed to go nearly half a mile to a dock where I borrowed some jumper cables and it started my motor just fine.

Overall I am very happy w it so far.
I’m fairly certain like other items, batteries are made by only a few manufactures and are sold under numerous different names. I do know that Lowes is a Deka dealer. I will research more and see if I can determine that Duracells ared indeed made by Deka. Thanks for the input!!
I use the duracell agm batteries for my starting batteries, and the regular flooded group 31 for trolling motor. They should have a sticker on them that says East Penn, which is the company that makes deka. I like them, and batteries plus in west ashley is always helpful. Ask them about the 10% off and they’ll probably give it to you and save you the extra step.
I’ve got 6 group 31’s from Duracell, Have one pr.that is about 3 years old with no problem. Last month I had to rob a pr. from my Glassmaster and put them in my dump truck to replace the Interstates. Man those suckers are heavy! Gon’a buy another pr to replace them.
