Let me teach you a lesson at the boat ramp. First off, as you are aware there were many, many boats trying to get off of the water at the same time. You need to be PATIENT! To single me out as taking up so much room was uncalled for. Yes, I have a 24 foot boat but I was with inexperienced boaters today. Actually took a kid and his Dad fishin! The current rips thru there and I was positioning my boat. To step off of your boat when we arrived at the same time and make that comment was rude. I just pulled up. There were at least 6 other boats tied up all over the piers and one family took a lot of time on their ramp. I didn’t see you policing them.
Maybe you were jealous of my boat and all it’s set up. Maybe your just miserable playing for the "other team. " No worries! I know your boat. I promise you this, I won’t be as courteous next time when I see you. My advice is be patient at the landing and NEVER, EVER look my way again.
Lol today was the first day in 12 years that I’ve trailered and launched a boat. Needless to say I launched it more sideways than I did straight in. Did the same thing getting it out (motor acting funky, couldn’t drive it up, current was ripping).
Fortunately I didn’t meet your band of hecklers. Got some help from a great guy getting the boat straightened up on the trailer.
Matt, I was actually just positioning to tie up to go get the car. That’s when she stepped off of her boat and was extremely rude. Funny how some people can be so rude and others so nice. I am always willing to lend a hand or offer help to people. It took me by surprise especially with sooooo many others out there. Saturday and Sunday boaters need to be patient so no one ruins a boat or worse gets hurt.
On a brighter note, we caught fish on this beautiful day!
BG,
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Typiical…short haircuts, no ear rings, shorts that probably should have been longer. I don’t want to be mean but probably not your type. Lol
Yesterday was just a precursor of what to expect at the ramp from mid April through September. I pulled out of Limehouse just before 4 PM and the lot was still slam full of vehicles like it was Memorial Day. I got out without incident, but is was going to get ugly as dusk approached and the drunks came in.
Remley’s was a parking lot at dusk. a surprisingly well behaved, organized parking lot. As one of the handful that had to dock, back the trailer, hop back in the boat and trailer it I was pleased and impressed with my fellow boaters. There was probably 10-12 boats and everyone taking their turn.
Long shorts are way over rated. There was one piece of eye candy at the landing who we are 98% sure was wearing a bikini top and panties. It was a warm day, so my son and I kept an eye on her lest she be overcome from heat exhaustion. Poor lamb.

This is the reason I love working shift work. I have not attempted to fish a weekend in 10 years. Too much silliness for me.I am a Monday through friday fisherman. Yall keep it up on the weekend !
Cooperriverman, I also get to fish anytime I want thru the week as a business owner; however, I was taking a kid fishing to put him on his first fish.
The only time his Dad could go. I do agree with you though. I normally have people on the boat that can either back the trailer up or drop me off so I
can get the truck and trailer. Saturday I had to do it all myself. I won’t make that mistake again. I was just surprised how someone could have no patience
and could be so rude as if no one else but thm mattered. Kinda like we (as straight men) owed them either the space. It was definitely a “I have no tolerance for men attitude”. They have their up and comings though.
I’m glad I am not the only one being part of ‘an interesting day’. I decided that my Sea Hunt 22’ bay boat is like a horse. It hates to be trailered! I will admit that I am still inexperienced and if the tide is really moving, it may take me several attempts to get the horse in. Two weeks ago, with a
crowded ramp, I got twisted 180 degrees out. However, everyone was patient with me and the next attempt I got it right.
I was on Lake Wylie yesterday and it was interesting. People were either rude or totally ignorant of how to act in the presence of other boats. One ‘gentleman’ was making rooster tails trying to get his bass tracker w/ 40hp engine on his trailer. I quietly showed him how to get my horse loaded (no tides here).
Fishing was not good either, so I spent the day teaching my son how to drive the boat and enjoy the warm weather.
Don’t know if you have trailer guide posts but, they are a big help. My boat is fairly flat bottomed and there are some landings where the tide rips pretty good. I would have a hard time getting on my trailer without guide posts. Plus, I have pipe lights so they never get wet and are a lot more visible.
Dawhoo was slammed yesterday (1/12/12) but a lot of it was duck hunters. Lot was nearly empty at 4 PM when we got back. Morning was like rush hour, but everyone was well-behaved.
