Had family over for Sunday supper. I made shrimp and grits. There is not a right way to make shrimp and grits in my book but this is what I did this time. Starts with a basic tomato sauce. You can add anything to it or have it with pasta.
Peel and chop four or five tomatoes, add fresh thyme.
Chop onion, pepper, celery, garlic.
Saute above in butter with dried oregano and chile flake.
Add tomato when onion is translucent.
Cover and simmer till it looks like this:
This is basic tomato sauce.
I then added shrimp from last September and sausage.
