Was the same gamble last Saturday. I know a couple guys weren’t pleased with their ride home.

Last weekend, I don’t think the forecast ever improved after Thursday like everyone was hoping. I think it stayed at 3-4 at 4 secs into Saturday.
At least tomorrow, especially if this storm pushes off this afternoon, should be manageable until late afternoon.
3 ft at 8 secs until about 3-4 PM, then a little choppier.
If I’m going to take a little beating, I’d rather have it on the way in anyway.

Not sure what model your looking at. All the models are pretty much showing over 15 @ 2pm. I agree sw behind you isn’t as bad. Of course the wind will be against the 3:40 low tide depending on what time your back. Latest GFS model run should be out at 4:30. I would bet it pushes the wind a couple hours sooner. I’ve been wrong many times before though.

Latest forecast is 16 gusting 18 by noon and 18 gusting 23 by 2pm. I’m gonna say the older the wiser…

I hope it’s nicer than they predict for everyone elses sake.

Yea things just got interesting from the beach to the ledge. Thing is it was nice out there till like a hour ago. Built in W to E so it gonna be bad the whole way in. Glad I am at the farmers market for once!

Agreed, for once I’m not so mad about working on a saturday. It was predicted though.

Judging by the whitecaps in my swimming pool, it’s going to be pretty sporty out there this afternoon.

Fun ride in this afternoon from Y-73. Wet, wet and even wetter as we came in around 1:30-2:00pm. At least the fishing was good;) Guess that’s par for the course…

Sure felt sporty in the creeks starting at 2pm sharp. Heard some channel 16 chatter sounding like someone ran out of fuel 50 miles out

We fished at Charleston 60 from 8 until 11:30, Plenty of triggers and BSB keepers but we stayed about 30 min too long, wet ride back to jetty.

Did a half day diving. Got on some grouper and lobster. One lobster was 11-12#. Picked up and ran in at noon.

Wow! That almost makes it worth the trip. I don’t think I’ve ever had a 12 lb. lobster :sunglasses:

We ran out to 550 feet and had a good day gaffing dolphin. Wind kicked up around 12 and seas got sloppy around 1. Headed in at 1:30 into a quartering sea of 3-4 ft. Wet and rough. Ran in about 25 mph but it’s weird having the autopilot on and not touching the wheel when you’re bouncing around. Feel bad for anyone in anything smaller than a 30 footer that had that run in.

what size boat were you on?
we headed in around 1:30 also from outside the Edisto banks, made a steady 20 without it being too bad, 25’ Blackfin combi

Waiting for my dad to send pics. I got a 13# last year. This was my second biggest ever.

I stayed in the river yesterday and that afternoon wind would blow your hat off just sitting still. I bet it was an uncomfortable, wet ride in. Glad y’all all got in safe. I heard Coast Guard with that boat out of gas too, I couldn’t hear them though.

We were on a 30 ft Sea Hunt. It wasn’t the roughest water I’ve ever been in, but 4 footers quartering definitely made it one of those rough rides.
