Got out on the redfish slyain’ skiff on Sunday to catch the flood tide in the evening. Caught a really nice one waiting for the tide to come up. Was an extremely fun fight down a creek no wider than the boat. The tide finally came up high enough as sun started heading down.We advanced onto the flat and immediately found two waving tails. No takes. I got out and waded the flat and went 0 for 9…no cruisers, all were tailing hard. I had two eats; one was an absolute monster…I’d definitely say close to 35" which was quite surprising to see up on the flat, his tail looked like a sail coming out of the water. Both fish came unglued which was disappointing. I’ve found that the savage gear shrimp, although effective, has a poor hookup ratio. It was an amazing night on the water and I cant wait to hit it hard this weekend. Tight lines!
