Top2Bottom Friday

Headed out the Stono in early am in some real low water, bumped bottom a time or two running out Folly River, then cleared the outer bars with about a foot of water under the boat on a plane! Ran out just north of Edisto Bank and started fishing in about 200 ft on a temp break, slow morning with a few mahi here and there, ran out to 400ft then came back in and found a large “scum line” with some weeds in it and started picking at the mahi again, Ended up with a dozen mahi, 1 monster slab in the 40’s (lost another like this as well)another big cow and the rest in the 20+ pound range. Had a nice smooth ride home and long night cleaning boat and fish but definitly a great meat fishing day! Now if we could just catch a dang Wahoo this year allready!!!

Yeah, what’s with the wahoo. We went to SW Banks yesterday specifically looking for wahoo since this time last year we boated 6 on father’s day, one being 80 and another 90 lbs. Still have not seen one for the year yet…hopefully tomorrow!
