Got off work at 7 and made a pit stop by the lake on the way home. Fished the last hour of sunlight and got 4 of these little guys and missed another 3 or 4. All on topwater.
All clones of this one, but still was awesome to see them come up and pounce on the plug on a dead flat lake with a beautiful sunset in the background. There was bait running by, but no real surface activity other than when the would hit the plug.

from what i have heard with the bait already being at the rocks looks like the spawn may be a month or so early…which just means less money spent on bait for me …lol…
I work right up the road from there and have been going there for lunch. I haven’t seen the herring yet, must be an evening thing for now. I have been throwing a topwater plug every day for about 20 minutes and haven’t had a hit yet. I guess high noon isn’t the best time. People are catching keepers from above clouds to the dam and everywhere in between. It is going to be some good fishing when they all start pulling to the lower lake
