Went out super early to try our hand at some topwater action… we were pleasantly surprised! I got 3 on the 4.5" X-rap , biggest at 19.5" while my better half got 2, her biggest was right at 18" on the 3" skitterwalk! As the sun came up we switched to subsurface baits and jigs and caught 3 more trout and 2 flattys! Couldn’t find a spottail to complete the slam but we tried. Started getting hot around 1030 so we headed for the house!
That stump is one bad dude. I hope no one left their headlights on at the landing.haha. I bet that is one of them rapala knots.P.S. You would have got that spotail if you would have went up to Verona.
Thanks!
It’s just a non-slip loop knot! I run them on ALL leader lines excluding a circle hook under a cork. They let the lure create more of its own action with less tension on it from the leader… now with straight braid I just tie it directly to the hook/lure.
Sman, you’re right about that, but I threw in the towel with all that sun shining on me like a laser beam! I’m almost accliamated, just not there yet haha
