Topwater trout

The top water bite has been pretty consistent for me lately. Lots of small trout up to about 18" at the biggest. Pretty steady from 7:30 on to dark. Last night I had 5 blowups, caught 2. They are preferring the “twitch, twitch, pause” method. Aggressive walking isn’t getting much attention. Tide stage hasn’t mattered much, as long as the water is moving a little.

I love the summertime in Charleston.

the white braid is invisible in that picture.

That top water bite is hard to beat. They seem to be eating about anything you throw at em right now. Indeed it as a good time right now. Good catching!!

Nice report…
I haven’t tried top water in the evening lately. I’ve been trying and not being successful in the morning. Guess I need to switch!
