Im not saying I catch a ton of tarpon by any means, but i caught two last year and one each year the last 2 years. Honestly just luck, and time…
Even if I target them I cant catch flounder. I can catch reds and trout and black drum until im red in the face, but no flounder.

Much more in the way of MPA’s and NMFS, I’d say the hardest to catch will be legal ones.

While I’ve heard it has happened, I don’t know anyone that’s caught one.
I’m gonna go with sells on saltwater fish and a sturgeon In fresh water.
Maybe put in a mako as another hard to catch fish and dangerous as heck trying to boat.

I’m surprised no one has said triple tail. I’ve heard of people catching them in big numbers down towards Hilton Head but Charleston area they’re pretty hard to come by from my experience.

I’ve only caught one…offshore. He was living in a five gallon bucket and came out to eat a piece of shrimp. Unfortunately I had to split the meat 3 ways and only got a little piece…that mofo was AMAZINGLY good.
