Been a Sea Tow member forever. Now with the charter ticket I get to pay the same $169/yr. but also get to pay $100 an hour if I require service…
What are you all using?

Never knew there was an extra charge for a Captain. Thankfully I’ve been able to get help from friends when needing a tow
Charleston Fishing’s most hated guide!
FYI, for charter captains.
Towboat US policy is $281 for a charter vessel with no additional fees when requiring service.
Sea Tow was $169 plus $100 and hour when requiring service.
I opted for the higher initial cost of Boat US.
I have no dog in the fight here, since I can usually dog-paddle myself back to the ramp in the soda can I use.
However, why would Sea Tow charge an additional fee to captains who require the service? Because, perhaps, captains are on the water more often, and thus more of a risk?
Saying “I am offended” is telling everyone else that you cannot control your own emotions, and thus you need everyone else to do it for you.
Thanks for this info. I will be switching my service over to Towboat US, as I was unaware of this, and my SeaTow membership is up for renewal.
