Townsand Wissnger and Chip Bragg MSC members came in second and third place respectfully in the SBCC tx out of BD State park today .Towny had a 18 plus lber and Chip had a 14 plus lber. Great representation from MSC Members . Congrats to all who fished and to Rob for his First place finish including a 31 lber.
Thanks Tom it was a great day on the water for sure. We had a 15.04# fish and one little over 8#…we only caught 15 fish today but all fish were in in the 7# range. Big baits out fished the Avg sized baits 2:1. We did hook up with another fish in the teens early in the morning but it came unbuttoned…
Hard luck for Bryan and Van. They broke off 2 20#+ fish including one boat side that was pushing 30#. I don’t know if I could have continued to fish the rest of the day if I had that happen…
We need more MSC support fishing the SBCC or just more teams from Murray. Next TX is on the Hill May 24th…put it on your calendar, that’s a big fish month on the hill…
didn’t get any other pix while I was trying to get the fish out of the tubes but here was mine before the release…Also want to thank Rob and Wes for another awesome live release of another huge fish. This makes 2 yrs in a row that a 30+# fish has won the SBCC on murray.

So Rob Hedrick ended up winning it?! Talked to him while fishing Bear today, because I picked up one of his planers that got loose. That was around noon, and he sounded pretty urgent on the phone about having to run and find fish. Great for him that he pulled out the victory! Also, let me extend my congrats to Mr. Wessinger and Mr. Bragg of MSC for the strong showings! Sorry to hear about the lost Biguns by Barely Time.
I was out alone just fun fishing for mental health:smiley: Lots of shorts with average sized bait, but I did bring home a 6 and 9 pounder for the frydaddy. Nice early spring day!
Congratulations Chip and Towny. Can’t think of anything better than catching really nice fish on a really nice day. Too bad about the escapees, but they’ll get bigger. It’s also very comforting to see the recognized better anglers catch the better fish. Maybe some folks who read this forum, but aren’t members of MSC, will choose to join up.
CHIP had a great smile on his face when he released his 2 nice fish . Striper tubes are great for keeping these wonderful fish alive. Warren Turner has them available.

Hey Fog, Did you try any perch after we saw you? We should probably stayed home yesterday. Only kept 21 perch, a few were jumbos, and a nice largie. Worst day I’ve had since before Christmas. There were some stripers rolling near us from time to time, but couldn’t get them to hit either. Fish seemed to be on the move all day. Never found a depth or pattern that was consistent and marked almost no baitfish all day. All but a couple hit the 3/4 CC spoons again. I did see my old classmate catch two keeper largies and a few perch just before we saw you. He was using a 3/4 CC I’d given him a couple of weeks ago. He’s still got the knowledge. Hope his health will improve so he can get out more.
It is great to see all of these big fish being caught! I have only caught one over 20 pounds (24) to be exact. There is nothing like the rush of having something like that on your line. With fish like that being brought to the scales in these tourney’s provided nothing drastic happens the years to come should be something to behold.
