Traeger/green egg/ or other

Ok so the old lady wants to get me something for Christmas and I am thinking a new grill.

I had the pleasure of cooking on a traeger this weekend and was extrememly impressed with it. I like the fact u just cut it on and set the temp. Just the right amount of smoke. Easy as pie, I love cooking on my trusty weber with charcoal. This product seems like less hassle with same result.

That said, whats the verdict with the brain trust here? Traeger or pop on a green egg?

I would like some versatility, being able low smoke or high temp searing. From what I can tell the traeger offers that with little hassle.

Smokin Brothers line absolutely destroys traeger. Traeger went to being poorly made a few years ago when they moved their manufacturing overseas. My original Traeger was awesome. Compare a 10 year old traeger to the new ones. The new ones feel cheap and flimsy. I have Smokin Brothers Premiere 36. Its a 200+ lb beast that is made with heavy duty metal and retains heat like a boss. Also has a smoke output control on it. https://www.smokinbrothers.com/

Not very sure about your Traeger being of lesser quality I have one and could not be happier with it . 1st class grill all the way and have been using it a while now

OTHER!!!

I bought a Camp Chef Woodwind pellet grill/smoker and couldn’t be happier. It has a sear box on the side that is powered by propane. It has introduced me to the world of reverse searing steaks and burgers. I won’t cook them any other way now. I had a BGE but once I bought the Woodwind, I never uncovered the BGE so I sold it. The ease of use and versatility of this grill are unreal and the food it cranks out is even better. Plus, the Camp Chef pellets are all natural. They don’t add chemicals/binders to their pellets.

God bless the “ignore” function.

2 large green eggs. One setup for direct cooking and one for indirect cooking.

After being released, a lot of fish die, but a lot of them live also.

A little long but this is a good side-by-side detailed comparison of Traeger Pro Series 22 Bronze and Camp Chef Woodwind.
