There is not much you can do right now except browntop millet or bean/peas. Even then, it is only going to last for a short time. From my research, LabLab is basically just a super soybean…except is not all that super. If the deer nip the LabLab, it dies just as easily as soybeans. I know because I planted it. The LabLab came up nice and pretty. I took a gander at it, and then went flounder gigging that night. When I came back the next morning to put out corn, every dang Lablab plant on about 1/2 acre was GONE. The dirt bags ate everyone of them in one night. 4 legged lawmowers they are. You can plant oats in late September, and the oats (wheat or rye too) will last throught the season. And, of course, you need rain unless you have irrigation somehow in the middle of nowhere.

Looking a little better…

Biggest buck I’ve seen this year

Little belly to him too…

Good to see them munching on the cowpeas too…

Very nice group of bucks there.

The one standing broadside in the 2nd to last pic looks like he’s been around awhile.

Won’t be long now!!

They are buddies now… but won’t be long and they will be beating the crap out of each other … if they survive till rut season.

No doubt it was a beautiful moon. The wife and her sisters must have taken a hundred pictures of it last night. Bet it was really beautiful over the water.

Our deer are going to do the majority of breeding during our Lowcountry rut season (sept-dec.), but some will and do breed all year long. Baby deer at different times throughout the year can be no mistake of it.

I’ve been thinking about a large four wheeler to use our at my place for a while now for doing heavy lifting, hauling logs, delivering corn, hauling deer out of the woods, stuff like that.

Finally decided on something a little more utility and wound up with a John Deere Gator HPX 4x4. I love the little dump bed on it. It’s going to help me out a lot and I’m really pleased with my purchase.

Great little 4x4.

Very nice, Ricky. Will pretty much go wherever a 4 wheeler will with the ability to haul a load…

Where are the Bucks?? Only put one bag of corn out, so it didn’t take this crowd long to clean it up before the boyz arrived! Check out the spots on the fawn on right in pic #2. Almost solid stipes down its back.

Pic 3 has a couple does wanting to fight over the last kernel, lol.

Very pleased with this camera. Thanks again for the tip, 23!

Nice! The bucks won’t be too far behind, that’s for sure!

Think that’s a coon in bottom center??

Man, you got a nice place there and your hard work is evident. And those deer are great! Some of mine are so thin you could read a newspaper through them. Haven’t statred baitng yet, but hope to see results in a month or so.

Posing for the camera…or looking at another deer.

You ain’t bigger than me!

Stare down.

The three biggest on my place in a mexican standoff wondering who’ll eat first…

We’ve got a kicker people!

Finally got him to go away!

Everyone’s starting to get frisky lately.

Body size/neck size/height size comparison…how old do you think the big buck is in the background?

Looking forward to a pic of one of these in the bed of that Gator soon!!

LOL, I saw a new buck on camera tonight…

Non typical in the background…this buck was around early, but has been MIA for several months only to show back up again a few days ago.

Best I can tell he’s a 10pt
