was going fishing… but had a bearing go out and thought no biggy, easy pop and swap and head out… well, let this be a friendly reminder for us… check your stuff often, even if you think it is just surface rust … lol… luckily for me i was in my yard and not on the road…
looking online and these folks look decent… (http://www.sturdybuiltonline.com/) anyone ever use them? pros and cons? or anyone have anyone local to Beaufort, SC that i can go to?
I actually bought a new axle from Sturdy Built a year and a half ago. It is a Dexter. It is a quality axle and they are good folks to deal with. I have since bought other odds and ends from them. Their price was cheaper by a good bit than anything I could find in Columbia at that time.

since the trailer is a 2002 with the front axle bad, i am going to replace both of them… thanks for all the tips… i do have a local guy looking, and if they come in to expensive i will order online… the good one will be used for “spare” if i need it…
There’s a trailer shop behind Gas Light Square in N.Chuck, Iron Knight Trailers. He has everything you need more then likely to rebuild a trailer. Also Seels carries stainless U-Bolts.
