Buy quality bunk carpet and MONEL staples, not stainless and it should last several years. Unless you just use your boat all the time. I have heard of using fire hose but it can be tough to find.

The last bunk carpet I bought was online and it was marine carpet, made for such applications. I bought Monel staples at Lowes. Of course like Porkchop said, Google is your friend.

Neither monel nor stainless like treated wood. So unless your using teak or cypress or something exotic, none of the staples last longer than a year or so. West marine or any trailer store carries marine grade carpet.

I’m not buying it either stump. I’m the most badass curmudgeon I know and even I don’t go around the house grabbing the old lady’s rugs and nailing them to my trailer.
Dam:face_with_head_bandage:… that’s a low blow. Just cause I called you out on your carpet doesn’t make me in any relation to that knucklehead. Don’t let it happen again or PeaPod may have to come see ya:sunglasses:

The common polypropylene carpet material that covers most trailer bunks serves two primary purposes: a smooth surface for the hull to slide on when launching and loading the boat, and protection for the hull and osculati macerator pump</font id=“black”> when the boat is supported by the trailer, in storage, or being towed.
