Had to replace a hub last Friday after blowing a bearing. The new hub at the part store was close to $80.00. Looking online for a spare, I came across these kits for less than $30.00. Why are these so much cheaper, lower quality, or just internet pricing?
Check at Charleston Trailer. They sold me a hub kit with lugs and all for $40.00. They are great people and do what they say every time, wouldn’t go anywhere else.
Shout out for the Trailer Shop in Mount Pleasant. Two experiences with them have both been good. I had a blown hub near my home that I was not willing to drive to any shop. They hooked me up with a replacement axle (my choice) and all the hardware so I could replace it myself. They offered to come to my home and help when I came back with questions. They let me bring back the old one for disposal. It was a challenge to find them but worth my effort.
Always carry a spare pre-packed hub w/bearing, while on the road! Make sure you have the proper tools tool’s to change it! At the most, extra hour to change it and on your way again! To include a jack. Like American Express, (Don’t Leave Home Without It)
I replaced hubs with set from etrailer and didn’t have any issues and their customer service was great. Later determined that I had an axle issue and based on the MANy great recommendations on here, took the trailer to Charleston Trailer. As everyone has stated, great people and great work at a reasonable price. I then wanted one of their trailers! If it’s a minor price difference, please support local!
