trailer light bulb?

OK guys, so my trailer brake and turn signal lights work fine, but the tailights don’t work, I check and one of the bulbs tailight portion (wire arm thing?) was busted but the other side’s bulb is fine, could this cause both tailights to not work? Thanks

The burned out filament may be causing a short in the wiring.

brown wire is the tail light wire
usually also have a different fuse in the truck for tail lights than blinkers

same thing my jeep did when the wire harness that connects to the factory plug inside the jeep went bad.

Each side usually has its own ‘running’ light wire, so would not anticipate the bad bulb causing the problem.
I would venture a guess at a poor ground, though. Sometimes if the ground is ‘weak’, the lower watts needed to burn the running lights just will not illuminate, but brakes/turn signal use and deliver higher wattage, and they kind-of force the bulb into action.

Ground the light itself at/near where it mounts to the trailer, and then be sure the ground from the trailer to the vehicle is good too.

Also, “before you do anything”, 1st be sure you’re getting power from the vehicle’s running light circuit.
Best of luck
