What frequency do you replace your trailer lug nuts. I have had this trailer for 18 months, I do rinse the trailer after every use. I just noticed yesterday, the lug nuts are corroding really bad. It just seems to be premature to me. Just curious to see what others do.
to my knowledge they are OEM from 2006, one has a bad thread and will need to be replaced.
Stainless Steel lugs and Grease annually reduces corrosion.
I replace the whole hub assembly every other year on my trailers. Hubs are cheep for basic 3500lb. We sell them pregreased for $45 and they come with all the hardware. On the other years I just loosen and tighten back.

Once you replace them, spread a little grease on them. It isn’t pretty but it works.

This year I started bringing along a jug of water with me to the launch. After dipping the trailer I rinse the lugnuts and the bolts on back of the lights. This has worked great so far for minimizing corrosion. Previously, I’d wait until I got home to rinse both boat and trailer at the same time, but I got thinking about how the trailer is sitting in the air for a long time after launching, getting a head start on the corrosion. So far this little step has been working pretty well.
