I have a dual axle trailer that has a 22’ Sea Pro on it. I have been having trouble getting the trailer to go in reverse to the point of forcing it which I know cannot be good. Fluid levels are good. Anyone have an answer besides taking to the shop?
reverse solenoid not working, make sure it has power when in reverse.
Is there any easy way to do that?

The solenoid is at the front end of the brake line where it attaches to the large brake actuator at the trailer tongue(at least it is on mine). If you have someone in the truck (while tailer hooked up) put truck in reverse and you put your hand on that solenoid. You can feel and/or hear it click when they do that (when reverse lights come on)if its working. Again, at least you can on the ones I have had.
If nothing, then you can first check your trailer plug and the connector on the truck to makes sure when it is put into reverse, power is coming through to activate the solenoid It is run off of your reverse lights basically. Voltmeter or test light will tell you that. Assume you have a 5 post plug. One will be ground, one runnings light, two for blinkers/brake lights, and the 5th is for the reverse brake actuator.
You can google up some more info, pics etc. See brand of actuator and go to their site for more detailed info I would think.
