Trailer question

I have a 2000 21’ Sea Pro deep vee (210CC). T-top, leaning post the works. Being pushed by a 2000 Yamaha 150 2 stroke. I have it for sale on CL and a guy came by to look at it today. He said he liked the boat, but was worried about the trailer. Said it should be a tandem axle for a boat this size. I bought the boat from Hankle and it came on this trailer. Bunks come to the transom and the boat fits the trailer just fine. While I admit it feels a bit tongue heavy, it’s not too bad. I have seen 21’ boats on single axle trailers and tandem axle trailers. What say you? Should a 21’ boat ride fine on a tandem axle trailer or is a single just fine? I have no idea what the Sea Pro 210CC weighs.

I had a 21’ Neptune that towed and rode better on the single axle, bunk trailer it came with than the tandem axle, roller trailer I bought for it.

It all depends on weight of boat and weight capacity of the trailer.

Tell the “looker” he can buy a tandem if he wants it…

Thanks LW. Any idea how I can figure out the weight of the boat and the capacity of the trailer? Just looking at it, it looks like a pretty heavy duty aluminum trailer.

There should be a capacity plate somewhere on the trailer, close to the tongue or winch stand (it may be on the inside of the trailer frame). NADA.com will usually give you a rough estimate of the boat’s weight than you need to add for the motor, fuel, etc. OR…you could have it weighed at a truck scale.

Texas, you still want to look into a possible trade in boats, your deep V for my bayboat? i just dropped my boat off at the shop for a quick tuneup, oil, lube etc job. its ready to fish

I have not ruled out a trade bo. I am getting tons of calls anda couple of tire kickers.

According to NADA, the boat weights 1950 lbs. empty and the 150 Yammie weighs 444 lbs. for a total weight (empty) of 2394 lbs and loaded with fuel (80 gals) and gear probably 3000 lbs. total. I’m with you DropnHook.

how do you think that makes the jewish members of this site feel?

Mis-informed, over sensitive, whining, seeking reaction, etc …

From dictionary.com

jew –verb (used with object) 5. (lowercase) Offensive. to bargain sharply with; beat down in price (often fol. by down).
