On highway 17 there’s a West Marine near the Lowes, Walmart is further up 17 on the right as well and there is a Tractor Supply Company just before Awendaw on 17 as well.

If you weren’t running radials, I highly recommend them.

From other forums.

Maxxis m8008
Gladiator
Greenball

These seem to be the favorites. Goodyear and Carlisle the worst. I have Nanking Cheapie Chinese on one axle and 4 Carlisle thay are 4 years old. No problems for me, but my longest tow is about 10 miles

I have been running one called a commodore for the last year and a half and so far so good. My tire guy said no one really makes a great trailer tire anymore. They are almost all chinese (junk).

Looks like the fender took the bulk of the impact. Another good reason to have fenders on your boat trailer. A blowout at highway speeds can wreck hell on some fiberglass.

Your boat faired better than mine , I got several bad dings in the
gel in my rig , same side , I’m still missing fender:face_with_head_bandage::face_with_head_bandage:

Had a blowout on that stretch from Florida City to Key Largo this year. Tires are only 3 years old. The tire dealer in Marathon said to look at the DOT number on the tires and replace them no matter what if they are 5 years older or more.

No need to buy a trailer tire most of them are crap. Any good tire store can match you up with a car tire that will work just fine and be of better quality. If the tire can hold a car it will hold your boat as it weighes a lot less

While I agree with dwb that most trailer tires are crap, I do not agree with putting car tires on a trailer. Here are a few articles that recommend against doing so. Read these and you’ll see why trailer tires are different. In all the years I have towed a boat (many times to the Keys and back), I have only had one blowout and I am pretty sure I ran over something. The biggest problem is sitting in the sun and oxidizing.
