I am sceered to drive it that far I’m in northbridge terrace west Ashley

Thats a pretty critical piece of the trailer.

Why did it crack?

I would be looking for a replacement part. Not something I would patch.

Is the tongue welded on? Should be removable.

Tongue is welded to center beam. I think it crack when trailer popped off my truck in driveway while I was trying to get it off the ball. My driveway has a fairly steep incline that I back the boat up onto, and it can be really tuff to get It off the ball due to the angle. It popped off when I didn’t have the blocks behind the wheels. Rolled down the driveway and drilled the asphalt. Didn’t notice the crack till this weekend. There is no play in the tongue and I think if I get a plate cut and welded on it would be sufficient. It’s a small boat.
