I broke a cross bar on my trailer. The boat is in the yard, and cannot be moved. Any ideas on how to fix the problem without leaving the house. i heard I should use boat jacks, but I cannot seem to find any at the local stores Any ideas?
couldn’t you just use normal jacks (on the trailer beams) and jack up the trailer and boat together? You only need a few inches raise. Just be very certain that they have a secure hold in their contact spot so they won’t slip. I’m also assuming the crossbar has not impacted the shape of the frame.

you can use regular jacks, and then lower the frame down on cross stacked 4x4s, or cmu block as cribbing, this will give you a much sturdier platform for the load. Depending on the size of the boat, you may want to brace it in several locations, including behind the trailer jack so you don’t have a ton of pressure on it. Like fishful said just be sure the boat is secure before you go crawling around under it.
did you ever have any luck getting your cross bar fixed?
Still not fixed. I do appreciate the ideas. I just need to get a crew together to get it off the trailer and on to a support system. and then back on. Hope to get it on soon. Thanks for the ideas
Call Harris Stone 478-6858. Same thing happened to a friend of mine couple weeks ago, he said Harris came the same day, repaired the trailer at a fair price and was ready to go in a few hours. He has just started a mobile trailer repair biz. Do not know the guy, but my friend says he was great.
