Transducer mount

Sorry in advance if this has been discussed a ton already. I tried the duct seal mounting method and found that it does not hold if it gets wet. Then I tried the foam puck method using jb weld to attach the foam. This also did not hold. Is there a preferred adhesive to attach the puck? Any ideas or better mounting methods are greatly appreciated!

Silicone adhesive works great too…take a piece of sandpaper and rough up a small area where you want the transducer to be glued in the hull, and also the bottom of the transducer. Clean the transducer and hull with some rubbing alcohol. Squirt a glob of silicone adhesive onto the spot, and press the transducer down firmly onto it - any excess that gets pushed out you can use your finger and bring it back along the sides of the transducer to help seal it. Let it dry for a couple days before you use it.

I glued my Lowrance Mark-4 transducer into the inside of my Hobie Outback with this method, and it has lasted over a year so far with no issues.

I attached my transducer to a small piece of pvc pipe, ran the pvc through the scupper hole so the transducer is flush with the hull. I held the pvc pipe in place with a piece of high density foam. Then I just trimmed off the excess pipe so it’s flush with the floor. It works great and hasn’t moved or come lose in 2 years.

If two wrongs don’t make a right, try three.

Thanks for the input guys this really helps!!

I used epoxy on mine. Rough up the spot you want to attach it to with some 60-100 grit sandpaper. Use plenty of epoxy on hull and press the transducer down on it. Place something heavy on top of the transducer (I used a patio brick) and let it set for 24 hours.
Mine has worked great for 3 years now and have not had to re-attach it yet.
