Transducer mounting location question

I’m finally joining (what seems like) the rest of the fishing world, and am upgrading to a fish finder with side scan and better downscan etc.

My question is, for mounting a total scan transducer or an LSS-1 or 2, how did you secure it to the hull? Did you use a chunk of starboard or other stand off material? The tiny screws that came with it don’t seem sufficient to keep it securely held to the boat, and I’d prefer to stop putting more holes in the hull than needed lol.

Thanks!

Installed a few for friends. Some I drilled holes and upgraded to a bigger better screw. Another installed a piece of starboard and put both pieces on it to prevent so many holes in hull. I Like that best. Your choice. Good luck.

I finally got tired of the holes in the transom and I invested in a Sternmate …

Works great - easy to install - holds three transducers … Fully adjustable for future upgrades …

… it’s my Wife’s fault we HAVE to fish !!!

Since my hull cost $25K I’d call it a worthwhile investment … LOL
