transducer mounting

Need to install a transducer on my boat and cant decide exactly where i want to put it. The boat has two engines on a transom bracket and im not sure if i put it in front of the engines if it will affect the transducer or the props. Any advice would be helpful. Appreciate it

you will probably have more replies if you post in the boat/motors section. I have installed several transducers throughout the years. Never on a boat with dual motors; however, the principle would be the same. You do not want to place it were you can get a chance of having air, or air bubbles near the transducer from propeller cavitation or otherwise. Thanks for the sea pro picture, probably gonna end up mounting mine similar to that. Thanks for the link also, gave me a couple different ideas in case this way doesn’t want to cooperate. Just didn’t really want any extra holes in the hull HAHA

just be sure to use sealant to keep water out of the holes.

Go to Walmart buy a plastic cutting board.Cut the board to fit the intended area.Mount the board.Then mount the Ducer to that cutting board.Works perfect.If the ducer is not perfect move it.No extra holes in the hull.

There you go. like star board but cheaper. You could 5200 that thing on there and it will be in that spot for ever and no holes at all. If you ever wanted to get the board off use cracker larry's leader wire method.
