Do you have any pics you can send? I’ve replaced a few wooden jon boat transom supports with starboard before with much success using the existing transom wood as a template. Just trace, cut with a jig saw, caulk with 3M 5200 and use stainless fasteners to reinstall

Prob caused by electrolysis. ideally, Pull the engine off and cap the transom with a new piece of aluminum. I had an alumaweld with the same issue. Looked like white puss around the holes and only got worst. You could go the cheap way and sand the area and put an epoxy over the affected area. You will always chase a problem though unless its done right the first time.

Ding ding. I believe that is whats happening. Went the sand and seal way and like you mentioned its a band aid. Thanks for the feed back guys. A friend referred someone who can help. I will let you know how long and how much it cost.
