I’m sure you can, but do you want to? How about a small kayak trailer. Not much weight to pull behind a smaller car. Two yaks would also come along with two yaks worth of gear (paddles, PFD’s, misc).
If you get one of the racks that holds them up at an angle two should not be a problem… I have seen it done many times… I have seen Dolphin D carrying 2 yaks with no problem and his car is about the same size… get the right roof carrier and you’ll be fine…
You shouldn’t have any problem using either a Thule or Yakima rack w/ 2 yaks on top. Stickman has a good point. You may want to consider a lightweight trailer for a couple of reasons. It’s easier to load all the accessories. easier on/off with the yaks. you can leave the yaks on it without having to find another place to store them. and finally, lower wind resistance. I thhink Yaks on top really puts a dent in gas mileage compared to pulling a small trailer.
But hey, if I can do this:smiley: you can
Thanks guys!
I am going to contact Dolphin D and “get in the game.”
My fiance and I can’t wait.
I am an avid powerboat fisherman, but gas is $4/ gallon and clean-up/ prep from a simple trip takes time.
This is also much needed exercise.
Don’t listen to Arch… real men paddle… even in the wind Too Busy… you could call it Mi-Poon
Paddle faster boys… I hear banjo music!
They are a little expensive…
$900 online pricing for something like this…
I’m back and I’ve promised to behave this time.
I want to be like Fritz when I grow up.

Those are nice trailers. significantly better than what you'd get at Horrible Freight.
The one I recently got rid of was a modified jet ski trailer. 15inch tires, nice springs, and a 4x8 bed to store all the crap we carry for a "simple" outing.
I have a Honda Accord 4 dr.
After the festival last weekend, we have the itch to buy a Tarpon 140 and Ride 135.
Anybody have any thoughts on these models and if they can be hauled around on a Honda Accord.
Live in Columbia, but love Salt. It is a long drive.
I have never paddled, let alone transported two.
Thoughts??

Michael, it was good to meet you and your wife this weekend at the show. There are all kinds of ways to haul those boats with the accord. All things considered, In my opinion, and after market rack from Thule or Yakima is the way to go. Cheaper than a trailer, and much more sturdy than a foam block set up. With the height of the Honda, loading shouldn’t be too difficult (as with say an Xterra).
We sell Thule here, and a basic rack for your car would run about $240 including tax. If you do get the boats from us, you will also get a 10% discount on the rack system. The ggod news with sit on tops is that you do not need to much in the way of fancy kayak saddles and such, just some padding and tie down straps.
Hope this helps, give me a call here at the store if you have any questions about the racks.
