I have an old net of my dads that’s seen its better days.When people refer to a net being 16,20 or 30 ft how are they measuring to get that number??? Is that the mouth width or net length?

It is the width at the mouth. It’s been awhile since I’ve dragged shrimped and don’t remember exactly, but it is measured either across the float line or across the chain line.

Measured by the footrope, which is the bottom rope.
