Has anyone ever heard that pressure treated plywood is not to be used on the transom of a aluminum boat? any help with this will help.
Makes sense, because of the salt content in the plywood corroding the aluminum. It would be like leaving an aluminum boat in salt water 24/7; corrosion would eat it up eventually. Just my opinion, not an expert…Pressure treating is almost all salt as I’m aware.

Not sure of the content of the new treated plywood nowdays but what mac daddy said makes a lot of sense, probably better off with exterior plywood coated with resin or painted very very good.

God is great, Beer is good, People are crazy
the new plywood today has a different chemical in it.it will corride aluminum same as treated 1x6’s and the rest.you can’t wrap a house with treatedthen put the wrap it with the pvc coated aluminun for the facail.(sp)i would not put treated plywood in the transom.

you can use the treated as long as you use some material or coating to separate the treated from the aluminum
