I haven’t run the boat in a while so I headed out to Capers on Saturday for a quick trip to keep the motors fresh. Used old clams for bait which worked great…for seabass. I was hoping to get at least one or two sheepshead and I’m sure they were down there but the seabass wouldn’t quit. Seas were great with only a gentle swell and so as expected there were 5 other boats at capers but we managed to get a spot on one of the bigger barges. The fan turned on in the afternoon which was no big deal for us but the mosquito fleet ran for the hill.
It was just a nice day to be on the water so we pulled anchor and drifted for about an hour while eating lunch and enjoying the fine day.
That’s what it’s all about.

I went to a reef out of Savannah Sunday and sent the GoPro down. Saw many large sheephead…a few Ringtails and no Blackfish (although we caught a few small ones). We had mussels and Live Shrimp and a few small crabs we got by turning over some rocks at the boat landing. They just would not eat. After 4 of us fishing for 6 hours, we only brought 3 back. Same weekend last year at the same place…we brought back 21…go figure.
