The trim switch in my throttle seems to have gone out. I can’t raise the motor from the throttle. Works fine when lowering it or from the motor.
Either the switch or wiring! Check the connectors at the motor end. There should be a blue, green and red going to the selonoid!
Is it possible to change the switch inside the throttle?
Just watched some videos on changing the switch. Thanks for the lead. I think that’s gonna be the problem. I’ll check it out this evening after it cools down.
Opened binnacle up and took the switch apart. Took and cleaned all the contacts with sandpaper and oiled. Works good as new. Thanks Keith. Put me on the right track.
Sweet. I love when you can fix something with a little time/effort and no $.

I’ll double that. Always down to save some $$$. Working on the boat is like vacation compared to my 9to5. I actually enjoy doing that kind of stuff. In this case I saved money on labor and parts. Switch wasn’t bad. Just needed a good cleaning. Probably would of took at least an hour and a half had I chose to replace the switch. Now, on to the store for more maintenance stuff. Trim fluid, power steering fluid, and a few other things.
