Hey All,
Okay, my trim tabs stopped working.
I have power to the breaker, power to the switches, power past the switches, and power to the last quick disconnect for the wires before the motor/pump. Good volts all around.
I’m thinking I have a bad motor/pump. What I don’t know is if what I’m looking at is dedicated to the trim tabs, or is it the same motor/pump that trims the outboard itself? I ask because the trim for the outboard still works like a champ, and it looks to me like this is the only motor/pump back there that drives anything hydraulic. All the wires for both systems go to this one motor/pump.
Thanks for the help.

That’s right Chris. Sorry, I forgot to include that.

the system doesnt have anything to do with the motor
you have a pump, and 2 electric valves
the motor spins and creates pressure, the valve opens when you push the bow down button and tabs extend.
when you push the bow up button, the valve opens, and the actuator is under spring pressure, and the spring pushes the fluid back into the resevoir.
if the tabs are retracted, and you push the bow down, and nothing happens, and you have power AND GROUND at teh pump, you probably have a bad pump

From what I can tell they are up and retracted. There seems to be very little room for them to retract if they are not, so I believe they are all the way up. Nothing happens with the switches.
Like I said, I ran from inside the console, checked the fuse, and ran the wires all the way to the pump in the back against the transom. There is a quick disconnect just before the pump. I get power all the way to that disconnect, and all four of the wires are connected to the pump. Two wires, one each, to two small barrel looking things on the front, and two more to a common connection in the back.
I guess than my fears are realized. I have to replace that pump. Thanks so much for the help and confirmation. I do appreciate it.
