Trim tab trolling motors

Looking at a boat that has them. Nice to clear the front deck but concerned if the trim tabs don’t function as well as traditional tabs. Anyone with experience with these?

I have always thought they were a bit under-functional-looking, but then again I have never fished on a boat with them…

Wasn’t looking to add them. They’re ALREADY on a boat.

Had them on the boat I have. They were on it when I bought it. One of the trolling motors quit working and then one of the trim tabs quit working, so I had them taken off. You can’t really steer very well with them. Not sure what they’re good for. Motors don’t affect the trim tabs. If you get the boat, I have spare parts for you.

plan on installing a bowmount trolling motor

Agree with the above. They’re complicated, hard to steer with, and can’t imagine anyone really liking them.

Friend spent $4k and had them put on.He hated them.

$4k mistake… ouch.

Consensus understood. They happen to already be on a candidate boat, that’s all.
