Trim/Tilt O-Ring Supplier?

I reworked the tilt cylinder on my 1995 Johnson 88 spl. Everything is back together and works. However, in pushing the cylinder cap back onto the shaft I pinched the o-ring and shaved an extremely thin bit off…fractions of a millimeter. It works fine, but, weeps a little. Having just had the thing off, with all the fasteners free and clean, now would be the best/easiest time to try again to get that seal perfect. However, I do not want to pay another $60 for an entire trim/tilt overhaul seal kit.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to figure out the dimensions of that o-ring and where I might buy a single o-ring?

Home Depot, and Lowes carry small packs, but I don’t think singles, fairly cheap.

Your dealer should have the O-ring as a separate item. If not, carry your old one to the hardware store (Royal in Mt.P for instance), or auto parts store and they should be able to match it for probably 25-50 cents. Lastly, be sure your fasteners are torqued appropriately,
good luck w/ tha fix.

Good ideas.
I’ll check with the local shops. I assumed the o-ring only came in the kit since that’s the only way I could find it online. I guess the local shops must have access to singles. And, I don’t guess there is anything special about this one o-ring. So, I’ll pull in the t/t and take it to match up.

Thanks.

Yep. I bet Allen and Webb would have every o-ring imaginable.

Thanks,
